TMZ: 'Young and the Restless' star Kristoff St. John dies

TMZ is reporting that "Young and Restless" star Kristoff St. John is dead at age 52.

The Los Angeles Police Department also confirmed they responded to a call to a home in the San Fernando Valley at 2:05 pm.

Law enforcement told TMZ foul play isn't suspected, and alcohol may have been involved.

"Kristoff St John was much more than just the Denzel of daytime, he was part of the first truly front-burner African American family on a long running soap".

He got his start as an actor as a child in the miniseries "Roots: The Next Generation". The younger St. John died by suicide in his room at a mental health facility. He won 10 NAACP Image Awards.

St. John's lawyer Mark Geragos tweeted a statement, writing: "Few men had the unique strength, courage & sensitivity that @kristoffstjohn1 lived every single minute of every day".

St. John was married and divorced twice.

Today it was announced actor Kristoff St John passed away at the age of 52. He also did episodic work on shows including The Cosby Show, A Different World and Laverne & Shirley.

In 2014, Kristoff's son, Julian took his life while under treatment in a mental health facility.

Two years ago, on Julian's death anniversary, Kristoff threatened to kill himself.

His fiance, model Kseniya Mikhaleva, expressed her grief on Instagram.

St. John's final tweet was a January 21 retweet: "Grieving the loss of a child is a process".
