Trump Calls Jussie Smollett Attack 'Horrible'

At the concert, Smollett is expected to perform tracks from his debut album, Sum of My Music, released in 2018. His family's statement describes the assault as a hate crime.

"That I can tell you is disgusting", Trump told reporters. "They were masked and wearing black clothing". The assailants then became physically violent, battering Smollett with their hands, wrapping a rope around his neck and pouring a chemical substance on him before fleeing the scene.

The attack happened after Smollett received an anonymous threatening letter that read, "You will die black f-g".

A picture of the letter sent to Jussie Smollett is pictured below.

According to the website, Jussie will reference MAGA (Make America Great Again), homophobia and racism during the gig.

Smollett has not commented on the attack, which Chicago police are investigating as a "possible racially-charged assault and battery" and potential hate crime. Many celebrities have shown their support for Jussie following the attack, including his Empire costars Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard.

Williams to hold inquest into 'embarrassing' auto delay
Last year, difficulties with the vehicle and team had forced Williams into "crisis management" . She said she has no concerns about the mood of the team going into the new season.

The Chicago Police Department released an official statement via HollywoodLife saying: 'Two unknown offenders approached him and gained his attention by yelling out racial and homophobic slurs towards him'. The FBI are now investigating this letter and its possible connection to the attack in Chicago. Smollett asked police to shut down the body cameras as he explained why the rope was around his neck. Police said footage from additional cameras was being reviewed.

But the alleged attack is not captured on the hundreds of surveillance videos the 12 detectives assigned to the case have poured through. The insider told MTO News, "Jussie is holding back information". Smollett reportedly had a fractured rib as well. Moore and Smollett both said they were on the phone with each other at the time of the attack, police added. The men hurled racial and homophobic slurs and told Smollett that he was in "MAGA country".

After the attack, Smollett returned to his apartment, and his manager called police from there about 40 minutes later, Guglielmi said.

But police were confident that they would find more videos and photos.

Smollett has not spoken publicly about the attack, but his representative told The Associated Press Wednesday night that the actor "is at home and recovering". "His story has never changed, and we are hopeful they will find these men and bring them to justice", the family said. The Chicago Police Department released photos of two persons of interest on Thursday, as Blavity previously reported. "Oftentimes ending fatally, these are inhumane acts of domestic terrorism and they should be treated as such", the statement says.
