Griffin scored 20 first-half points, and the Pistons led 61-59 at halftime.

Another player who seems to feel increasingly comfortable with his role in the team and it shows, is Jackson, who has nearly a month averaging excellent numbers in points, assists and field goal percentage, compared to what he had been doing since the beginning of the season until recent games.

Andre Drummond had 32 points and 17 rebounds, and the Detroit Pistons extended their winning streak to four with a 121-112 victory over the Washington Wizards on Monday night.

Bradley Beal (32 points, 10 assists, six rebounds), Bobby Portis (24 points off the bench), and Trevor Ariza (23 points) led a capable Wizards offense that shot a solid 50% from the field, but the Pistons were just a little better on the margins Monday.

Pistons: 5-5, averaging 104 points, 45 rebounds, 23.8 assists, 5.6 steals and 4.1 blocks per game while shooting 44.4 percent from the field.

The Wizards are 17-21 against Eastern Conference opponents. Wayne Ellington, signed after clearing waivers over the weekend, was limited to two points on 1-for-8 shooting in his Detroit debut.

Detroit has won and covered the spread in three straight games thanks to a home-and-home set of wins over the Knicks and a 26-point win over the Nuggets last week. Detroit out-rebounded Washington by 11, but also outscored the Wizards by 16 points in the paint. With the win, Detroit improved to 25-29 overall and 16-13 at home. Jackson hit all three of his 3-point attemps in the third.

Drummond scored 10 points in the quarter, including two free throws and an alley-oop layup in the final minute to give Detroit a 90-79 lead. Luke Kennard went 4 of 6 from 3 and had 15 points.

Portis knocked down a corner 3-pointer to make it an eight-point game with 1:15 remaining, but Detroit put the game away at the foul line. If the Pistons want to achieve important things this season, this must happen on a consistent basis.
