New York woman, 24, ID'd as dead female bound and stuffed into red suitcase found in wealthy Connecticut town

A 24-year-old woman from New Rochelle, N.Y. who was seen for the last time on January 29 has been identified as the deceased person found stuffed in a suitcase on the side of a CT road.

The day of the suitcase's discovery marked a week since anyone had reported seeing Reyes.

Valerie Reyes, 24, of New Rochelle, was identified as the body found in a suitcase in Greenwich, Conn., police said.

Reyes" cause of death has not yet been determined by authorities, although Greenwich Police Captain Robert Berry told ABC news that "many pieces of possible physical evidence were collected and results from forensic analysis are pending'.

"Nothing like that happens around here", said Alexandra Bucci, who lives just over the border in Port Chester, New York.

"Her family was advised of the positive identification last night".

Meanwhile, the Courant reported that an unidentified highway worker took photos of Reyes' body and the crime scene.

Highway workers found Reyes' body, with her hands and feet bound, in a suitcase Tuesday in a wooded area 15 to 20 feet off the shoulder of Glenville Road in Greenwich.

"Suffers from anxiety and depression", the police department stated.

"I feel like this neighborhood is relatively safe, so it's a surprise".

Ronan Farrow says National Enquirer tried to blackmail him too
A spokesman for American Media Inc ., publisher of the National Enquirer , didn't immediately respond to a request for comment. The National Enquirer published a story last month that included lurid texts between Bezos and Sanchez .

"We have no doubt there was a homicide involved", he said.

Greenwich residents spoke with the local newspaper, the Greenwich Time, about a growing uneasiness over news of the killing.

'So something like this makes people uncomfortable'.

Reyes worked at a Barnes & Noble store in Eastchester, New York, since it opened 2 ½ years ago, according to the bookstore chain.

"The entire Barnes & Noble community is grieving the loss of our beloved employee Valerie Reyes", read a statement from the company.

Reyes' family is asking for love and support through this extraordinarily hard time, and announced that they would be holding a vigil tonight. Reyes had plans to train to become a tattoo artist, Bradford said.

"Horrified. Absolutely horrified", said Bradford, 19. She was a confidant. "I can't believe someone hurt her". She had a really bright future.

No arrests have been announced.

Anyone with information or who saw anything suspicious should contact the Greenwich Police Tip Line at 203- 622-3333.
