49ers to sign ex-Chargers CB Verrett

Our own Al Sacco was the first to report the 49ers' interest in Verrett with Ian Rapoport later reporting that the team was hosting the cornerback for a visit, which included a physical.

The 49ers are adding some depth to their secondary by signing former Chargers cornerback Jason Verrett, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Injuries have plagued Verrett's career in recent years. From a torn rotator cuff to a torn ACL to a torn Achilles tendon, Verrett has suffered numerous injuries since entering the National Football League, hence the reason that a player with the skills to make the Pro Bowl in his only healthy season signs for such a small amount.

Verrett was a 2014 first-round pick of the Chargers, but injuries limited him to just 25 games in five years.

Lori Loughlin dropped from Hallmark, production halted on several Vancouver-filmed projects
That show has been renewed for a fifth and final season and word is that Loughlin has already filmed her scenes for that show. She faces charges of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest-services mail fraud, according to a criminal complaint .

When healthy, Verrett has proven to be one of the best cornerbacks in the National Football League, which was earned with an invitation to the Pro Bowl after the 2015 season.

Verrett has only played five games over the past three seasons. He was named to the Pro Bowl after that season as a replacement for Darrelle Revis.
