The Arizona Diamondbacks announced the signing of free agent outfielder Adam Jones on Monday, and in a corresponding roster moved placed pitcher Silvino Bracho (torn UCL) on the 60-day injured list.

According to 98.7 FM Arizona's Sports Station's John Gambadoro, Jones may not necessarily be the everyday center fielder. Now, it looks like he has found a home.

Jones would be headed to a Diamondbacks team that started hot but finished 82-80 on the year.

"My boy @SimplyAJ10 is about to be a DBACK". The one-year deal will become official once Jones passes a physical, and the agreement is a Major League contract, as per SNY.tv's Andy Martino (via Twitter).

Toronto (48-20) trails Milwaukee by 2 1/2 games for the best record in the league. Both players were ejected shortly after the altercation.

The 33-year-old Jones is a five-time All-Star Game selection and a four-time Gold Glove Award victor. After playing center field for most of his career, Jones shifted over to right field in August after the Orioles called up prospect Cedric Mullins.

Jones averaged.281 last season with 15 home runs and 63 RBIs. He was drafted in the first round by the Seattle Mariners in 2003.

The 13-year veteran, a four-time Gold Glove recipient and five-time All-Star, is a career.278 hitter with 266 home runs. Though his numbers declined last season, he still should be a capable piece for Arizona in 2019.
