Bill Shine Resigns From White House Comms Job

Shine will serve as senior advisor to the 2020 re-election campaign.

The two men had a number of disagreements in recent weeks, said aides, who were granted anonymity to speak freely. Trump's decision to hire Shine in the first place "was seen as emblematic" of the president's close ties to Fox, per the New York Times.

Sanders announced Shine's resignation just as the president touched down in Georgia and before he boarded Marine One for an ariel tour of tornado damage in neighboring Alabama.

When Shine joined the administration, he was viewed as an experienced hand whose television experience could help shape Trump's message.

Bell is 27, just took a year off from football, and touched the ball 1,541 times in the five seasons he played with the Steelers. NY is no stranger to drama, and the franchise will do anything to attract star players regardless of their baggage.

Bill Shine, White House communications director, arrives in the Rose Garden on the South Lawn of the White House on September 20, 2018. Shine's role was featured in a New Yorker story this week highlighting the close relationship with Fox News.

Shine, was ousted last spring from FOX News' executive ranks amid a major shakeup at the network because of sexual harassment scandals.

Shine served as assistant to the president and communications director, only the latest figure to hold that post. Others include Sean Spicer, Mike Dubke, Anthony Scaramucci, and Hope Hicks.

In a statement to The Associated Press, Ivanka Trump noted that Friday was International Women's Day and stressed the initiative was "working towards our goal of economically empowering 50 million women in developing countries by 2025". Baker, though, quoted part of Jane Mayer's piece which asserted "the President has been complaining that Shine hasn't been aggressive enough" and hasn't caused enough of a positive change in the White House's press coverage. "We will miss him in the White House, but look forward to working together on the 2020 Presidential Campaign, where he will be totally involved".
