Report: Bledsoe agrees to four-year extension with Bucks

Eric Bledsoe - who reportedly agreed to a four-year extension worth $70million earlier in the day - led the Bucks with 31 points, nine rebounds and five assists in Los Angeles on Friday.

The Bucks expect the 18-year National Basketball Association veteran Pau Gasol to play a key role in their title bid.

He was traded to the Bucks after playing just three games last season in Phoenix and declaring publicly on Twitter "I Dont wanna be here".

Bledsoe, 29, is averaging 15.7 points per game and 5.5 points this season on a career-best 49.2 per cent shooting for the Bucks, who have the best record in the National Basketball Association (47-14).

Taliban attacks US-Afghan base in Helmand
The Taliban said their fighters were engaged in clashes with U.S. and Afghan forces at the Shorab airbase in Helmand province. A local security official speaking to VOA on condition of anonymity confirmed the death of at least 25 Afghan troops.

The Bucks are now 48-14 and two-and-a-half games ahead of the Toronto Raptors for top spot in the Eastern Conference.

ESPN reported the buyout will guarantee the 7-foot playmaker $6.7 million of his $16 million salary next season.

Gasol's 18-year National Basketball Association career includes helping the 2009 and 2010 Los Angeles Lakers to National Basketball Association titles.
