Tamoaieta who has played for the Blues and North Harbour in the Super Rugby competition passed away on Thursday.

Blues CEO Michael Redman says they are saddened with the loss of the team's talented players. There will also be tributes at the ground to show love and support for Tamoaieta's family and friends and broadcasters in New Zealand and overseas will acknowledge the news in a broadcast.

North Harbour General Manager David Gibson commented: "Our deepest sympathy goes to Michael's partner Helen, his daughter Aihana and his family at this hard time".

Tamoaieta played two games for the Blues past year but was left out of the squad this season.

The rugby community has been rocked by the death of young Blues and North Harbour prop Mike Tamoaieta. "He's a good man and he is going to be missed", Little said, moments after the Sunwolves created history by beating the Chiefs 30-15 in Hamilton.

"Our deepest sympathy goes to Michael's partner Helen, his daughter Aihara and his family at this hard time".

"Our sincerest condolences are with Michael's family at this very sad time", Tew said. We're going to miss him dearly.
