Charlotte Russe has announced it will close all 500 of its stores

In a Wednesday court hearing in Wilmington, Delaware a judge approved the sale of Charlotte Russe's assets to SB360 Capital Partners LLC, a liquidation company.

Now all of Charlotte Russe's 500-plus stores nationwide will shutter, affecting 8,700 employees in 49 states and Puerto Rico.

FOX 13 - almost a month after Charlotte Russe filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, the retailer announced it will go out of business - effective immediately.

The retailer's website says "our online store has closed, going out of business, sale starts March 7, all stores, all sales final".

Both women were unaware they were being filmed and did not consent to the recording or its distribution. In a statement, NRL boss Todd Greenberg says they are making no judgement on May's guilt or innocence.

In February, the company announced their plans to close almost 100 of their more than 500 stores.

Last month, the retailer filed for bankruptcy and announced it was closing 94 stores including a store at the York Galleria Mall in Springettsbury Township. USA Today reports Charlotte Russe is in talks to sell and are optimistic about the future of the brand.

Charlotte Russe is closing more than 400 stores around the US, including at Gateway Mall in Lincoln.
