Cokanasiga and Hughes named in England side for Six Nations

England's coach Eddie Jones takes a pre-match warm-up session ahead of the Six Nations match against Italy on 9 March 2019

England's head coach Eddie Jones has included every heavyweight back at his disposal by pairing Ben Te'o and Manu Tuilagi in the centres, and levering Bath's Joe Cokanasiga into the right-wing berth, with Henry Slade shifted to the bench and Jack Nowell out with the shoulder injury he suffered in the 21-13 loss to Wales in Cardiff two weeks ago.

"We need to make sure those boys get in the game".

England lock George Kruis has joined Eddie Jones in taking aim at Italy on the eve of Saturday's Guinness Six Nations clash at Twickenham.

"He's massive, he's very quick, he's got brilliant skills and he's brilliant in the air", Farrell said of the 6ft 3in 18-stone back.

"We're able now to pick a big backline, which can play a little bit differently".

"We have everyone fit and available and it's an opportunity to play some big guys together".

Potentially matching the brute force behind the scrum are combustible props Ellis Genge and Kyle Sinckler, who will be packing down in the same front row for the first time in the penultimate round of the Six Nations. Joe Cokanasiga has also been given the nod for his first Test start on the wing, and Jones explained earlier in the week that he's excited to see the trio start for the first time.

Meanwhile, Fijian Nathan Hughes has been named on the bench.

Aston Villa's Grealish attacked by fan
The man sprinted onto the field in the ninth minute and struck Grealish with some force - to cheers from some in the home support. It occurred in the first half when a man in a cap charged Grealish and used his right arm to hit him directly in the face.

Jones has resisted the temptation to start Dan Robson against the Azzurri, with Ben Youngs and Farrell continuing at half-back.

Conor O'Shea, the Italy coach, is due to name his side later. Sebastian Negri has recovered from illness and comes in on the blind side of the back row in the place of Jimmy Tuivaiti.

"This is an Italy team that's preparing to win".

"We think we are going to have a real battle, real physicality from their centres". "The last stat I saw, we had scored more tries than any other team in the competition", the coach said (England have 11 tries to Ireland's nine, with the other four teams on seven each). "I'll take the flak for any results". For England, this match and the concluding Six Nations assignment at home to Scotland a week later are being seen through only two prisms - a chance of winning the championship title if Wales slip up, and the ever-present consideration of building for the World Cup.

"They've put on some pretty good performances in this Six Nations and we know they could chuck anything at us - like they have done previously".

"Italy is a bit of an unknown quantity but when Conor (O'Shea) allows them to play rugby they play well", said Jones, who was caught out by the Italians' since-outlawed "no ruck" approach last time they came to Twickenham two years ago. They are fitter, physically stay in the contest a lot longer and they are quite unpredictable in the way they attack. With Italy you've got to expect anything and that's exactly what we're thinking about.

Italy team: Hayward, Padovani, Campagnaro, Morisi, Esposito, Allan, Tebaldi; Lovotti, Bigi, Ferrari, Ruzza, Budd, Negri, Steyn, Parisse (capt).
