Aladdin casting controversy

The first full-length trailer featured the blue Smith shown at the end with Aladdin entering the cave to retrieve the magical lamp in which the Genie resides. In a way, it's nearly as if he's now turning his attentions to freshening up Aladdin, who also wants to be a prince.

The newest trailer focuses on the relationship between Aladdin and Genie. Plus, Will Smith's charisma absolutely shines in this role, and it looks like we'll love his Genie as easily as we did Robin William's Genie in the cartoon. Iago, Abu the Monkey and Rajah the tiger make cameos, as well.

Disney's live-action adaptation of the beloved cartoon, Aladdin, has had fans talking for quite a while. There are also snapshots of the big "Prince Ali" arrival number and some recreations of the animated classic's famous scenes.

Directed by Guy Ritchie, who brings his singular flair for fast-paced, visceral action to Agrabah, Aladdin is written by John August and Ritchie. One said: "Now THATS WHAT IM TALKIN ABOUT!" Plus, Pasek, Paul, and Menken snuck an extra-special verse into the classic "Arabian Nights" that opens Aladdin.

Barrymore and Olyphant also serve as executive producers, alongside showrunner and creator Victor Fresco (" Better Off Ted "). Santa Clarita Diet Seasons 1 and 2 are now streaming on Netflix.

Aladdin releases on May 24.

The new movie stars Mena Massoud as Aladdin.

"Disney just cleared any doubts about the movie by showing us a part of A WHOLE NEW WORLD in this trailer. This is how you do it". This is the third trailer of the film. I am a millennial on the internet, I got jokes, people. Something that the latest trailer definitely has plenty of. Another shared, "Oh wow!" Both signature songs are featured in the new footage. Memes flooded social media, with users taking every opportunity to criticize the look and style of Smith's wacky iteration. (This wasn't in the trailer, but if it's not the movie I might riot.) And give me the songs, so we can go to this theater and sing along to the soundtrack of our uncomplicated youths together.

Other cast members are set to include Naomi Scott (Princess Jasmine), Marwan Kenzari (Jafar), Navid Negahban (The Sultan), Billy Magnussen, Numan Acar, Frank Welker (voice actor from the original) etc.
