The World Wildlife Fund is asking everyone to turn off their lights for "Earth Hour".

The lights will go off at famous buildings and structures across the country between 8.30pm and 9.30pm on Saturday as part of the worldwide event organised by conservation charity WWF to urge action to save the planet. "At a time when the planet is facing an escalating climate crisis, it is crucial that every individual and organisation play their part to make a difference, no matter the scale", Farrugia said. It has grown in stature over the years, as more than 180 countries and territories are now involved.

"We live in an interconnected world".

"As a responsible local government who is increasingly becoming internationally recognised for our climate change action programmes, we must move toward more sustainable greener energy resources to meet our carbon neutral commitments".

"Every day, but most especially today, we have to do our bit to mitigate our impact on our planet".

The final trailer for 'Killing Eve' has been leaked
A Very English Scandal received 12 nominations and Patrick Melrose and Bodyguard have six and five nominations respectively. In the soaps and continuing drama category, the contenders are Casualty , Coronation Street , Eastenders and Hollyoaks .

But Earth Hour is just that: one hour.

"Earth Hour 2019 with its campaign '#Connect2Earth' aims to build mass awareness on why nature is important and create an unstoppable movement for nature similar to when the world came together to tackle climate change", reads the official statement issued by the organisers.

Paris's Eiffel Tower, New York's Empire State Building and the Acropolis in Athens will all take part in Earth Hour. As per media reports, several organisations, businesses, celebrities, politicians, and power companies are participating in this year's Earth Hour.

Earth Hour began in 2007 in Sydney, Australia.

Partit Demokratiku will be celebrating Earth Hour by candlelight in the village square of Mqabba at a pub on Triq San Bażilju. The WWF recommends taking a hike, spotting the landmarks that are participating in the Earth Hour 2019, and hosting a candle-lit dinner party for friends and family.
