The team has finished runner-up to Mercedes in the last two years despite having a vehicle capable of winning titles, the Scuderia's last was 12 years ago.

Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes won't go down this year without a fierce fight against Ferrari, but the reigning world champion has warned his team not to push itself too far in pursuit of its rival. Schumacher started the 2000 season with a new team mate in Brazilian Rubens Barrichello and Vettel begins the campaign in Australia on March 17 with Charles Leclerc a fresh face in the adjoining garage.

"The team were in a little bit of disarray previous year with Sergio passing away and clearly there was friction between Maurizio and Mattia". Vettel also left pre-season testing in Barcelona with the fastest lap time. "The team is the same, obviously apart from the team principal, but the team and the foundation are the same", said Vettel.

Last season, Scuderia had the quicker engine for the first half of the season, but with some problems the Italians faced - individually and as a team, the dominant Mercedes caught them up and won convincingly in the end.

"The human side has always been fascinating and all of us have been involved in that side".

"I think already past year, we as a team were behind on performance so we had to overachieve on delivery, and now we have to reach even further, it means we have to squeeze our performance even more".

Koen Casteels saved from Lewandowski and Gnabry, who opened the scoring in the 34th minute as he stabbed in Muller's low cross. Bayern, who have won the past six German titles, are now two goals above Dortmund on goal difference.

"We're in for a great season", said Brundle, speaking at the Sky Sports F1 launch event, which saw the network take over a petrol station High Wycombe, offering a free tank to fans ahead of the season-starter in Melbourne.

"But as a driver for sure I have to figure out how can I pull more out, which I don't have the current answer for". And you could see that in the film. What is it that makes them exceptional.

"We've got all these elements - Charles Leclerc, Sebastian Vettel, Ferrari under different management, Mercedes will be very strong, we've got the new regulations which I think will close the field up a bit..."

"I particularly liked the second one - the [Carlos] Sainz and [Fernando] Alonso chemistry that was there".

"Some of you have commented there doesn't look to be much progress, but I promise you there's an enormous amount of progress", he said.

"We need to get going because otherwise it's getting late in the day", Haas team principal Guenther Steiner told Reuters at last month's launch of his team's 2019 auto.
