'Game of Thrones' series finale to run 1 hour, 20 minutes

HBO shared an official length and air date Friday for all six episodes in the show's eighth and final season.

Episode Two will air on Sunday, April 21 and be 58 minutes long. Episode three follows on Sunday, April 28 clocking in at longest, an hour and 22 minutes.

Episode 4 - May 5, 1 hr. Make sure you've cleared out your Sunday nights for the following dates, because it's unlikely you'll have time to do anything other than watching the feature-length episodes and talking about them for hours afterwards. All episodes will begin at 9 p.m. on HBO.

By May 19, a.k.a. the season finale, fans will be able to soak up a full - and final - hour and 20 minutes of the last episode.

From that point, the lengths are edging closer to film length.

HBO has been pretty upfront with its plans to create a Game of Thrones prequel series, which is set thousands of years before the events of the current show and stars Naomi Watts in the leading role.

The episodes will be broadcast on Sunday's at 9pm EST in the United States and Canada, or 9pm on Mondays on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV in Ireland and the UK.

If it wasn't already obvious to you that there's quite a lot of excitement building about Game of Thrones, perhaps this - the news that it's now reached a point where it's inspiring special collections of Adidas trainers - will spell it out for you.

Either way, April 15 can't get here quick enough.

Yes, this means that it will all be beginning very early in the morning.
