In June, he will compete under the DAZN banner for the first time, with the location and opponent to be announced, appearing twice a year with DAZN for the next three years.

Another boxing superstar has signed an exclusive deal with streaming service DAZN.

Golovkin's deal signals an end to a courting process that started in October after HBO announced it was terminating its boxing programming. Both offered him lucrative deals and at one point Golovkin accepted an offer from ESPN in January, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the situation, but he eventually changed his mind and did not sign. He's now joining Canelo Alvarez, the 160-pound middleweight champion who's the most well-known boxer in North America, and heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua-the most popular fighter in Europe-on DAZN. Golovkin retained his titles after a draw in the first bought, before succumbing to a majority decision in the rematch.

It looks like at least one team wants to see higher odds for late comebacks. If the team gains 12 or more yards on that one play, it keeps possession.

The deal confirmed today also allows GGG Promotions to have four non-Golovkin fights on the TV network over the next two years.

"Gennady Golovkin is a generational talent with worldwide appeal", added DAZN Group executive chairman John Skipper. "We're confident he will bring his passionate fans to the platform as we produce tentpole events with his team over the next several years". DAZN will also play host to two cards per years with Golovkin's promotional group. A venue and date of this fight have not been set yet, but we should fight out more on Monday when Golovkin has a press conference on Monday in Los Angeles. In that scenario, Golovkin, who edged Jacobs in their March 2017 bout at Madison Square Garden, would have to wait for the victor of a rematch between Alvarez and Jacobs before partaking in the type of mega-fight he wants as he nears his 37 birthday.
