Google Assistant can now make vocal restaurant reservations in 43 states

Google Duplex, for those unfamiliar, is an AI-powered feature on Assistant that allows the Assistant to make reservations on your behalf. Considering that the normal selling price for the Pixel 3 is $799, while the 3 XL goes for $899 new, this is quite a big amount you can be saving. The company first started testing the new technology back in October of a year ago with users in New York, Atlanta, Phoenix, and San Francisco Bay Area. If you live anyplace else in the United States, you'll have Duplex on your Pixel phone today. Only Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, and Texas are missing from the list. I'll leave the rest of that work to you. Naturally, it also raised concerns over privacy, recording, and full disclosure, reasons why Google took its time to roll out the feature to more cities.

When a person tells Google Assistant to "make a reservation for four people on Friday" at a restaurant, and shares their preferred time, the AI then checks with online booking partners to see if they can find a time slot to accommodate the request. It'll respond back to confirm some details before making the call for you. It's both cool and kind of creepy that a bot can perform such tasks for you.

Good Omens gives us an unbelievable angel/demon bromance in its first trailer
They must work together to find an 11-year-old boy named Brian, who happens to be the Antichrist. So this is how the world ends: with a raucously cool new trailer for Good Omens .

The company has just announced today that it will be bringing the Duplex feature, which works along with the Google Assistant, to even more Android and iOS devices "over the next few weeks".

Anyone tried out Duplex yet? In other words, this won't be a Pixel exclusive for long.
