This is hard to understand seeing Trump seemingly has a long history of racist behavior, according to Huffington Post. Then, that white man reacted with outrage and hurt when a woman of color called him out for what he had done. In private, he is even worse. From his company's discrimination against Black potential renters in the 1970s in New York City to his divisive and racist comments that labeled Mexican immigrants as criminals to his refusal to acknowledge that President Barack Obama is a native born United States citizen.

Tlaib eventually apologized and said she did not mean to call Meadows a racist.

"I think I needed to express my frustration and also the hurt that I think a lot of us felt at the moment that that action of having her stand up like that in a committee hearing", said Tlaib.

Meadows, one of Trump's staunchest supporters in Congress, said he's never heard the president say anything racist. "In fact, it has to do with your claim of racism". She added that she was saying that if "someone" were to behave in such a way, it would be racist.

"And neither should I, as the son of a Holocaust survivor", Cohen responded.

The drama unfolded during the House Oversight and Reform Committee's afternoon session with Cohen, Trump's former lawyer and "fixer" who's now headed to federal prison over a slew of financial crimes he committed while working for the president.

Patton continued: "Trump has time and time again done so much for the black community and I'm proud to be a part of it". "How do you reconcile that?" the lawmaker said.

Noah found one of the funniest things that came out of the hearing is Trump trotting out former Trump Organization Executive Lynne Patton, "who is apparently Trump's only Black friend". "The answer is zero".

Tlaib, the last member to speak, made her remarks about Meadows' move and the two got into a shouting match.

During her questioning of Cohen, Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) made known her feelings about Meadows' guest. Meadows knew that the topic of race would come up and he wanted Patton to address the issue.

"To prop up one member of our entire race of black people and say that nullifies that is totally insulting", Lawrence said.

"Well, you know, Laura, for me, the only prop in that room ... was Michael Cohen for the Democratic Party", Patton said.

Tlaib went on to describe Patton's presence as "hurtful" and "very disrespectful" to her.

Patton also ripped those who said she was a "prop", saying, "that is not the resume of a prop".

"That's what makes people uncomfortable".

"What he sees is success and failure, and whether that manifests itself as a person, a place, a property, a restaurant, a TV show, a policy, a country, a community ― he makes no differentiation", Patton told hosts Ainsley Earhardt and Brian Kilmeade.
