The Minister of Energy, Jeff Radebe has announced the adjustment of fuel prices for April 2019, and it's not good news for motorists.

The price of Petrol and high speed diesel has been increased by Rs 6 per litre.

This increased the contribution on the Basic Fuel Price of petrol, diesel, and illuminating paraffin by between 28c/l and 30c/l, the department said.

A statement on QP website showed that premium grade petrol will cost QR 1.80 in April, 25 dirhams more than March.

The new petrol price increases come into effect as South African residents brace themselves to deal with an over 9% increase in electricity, which comes into effect from tomorrow.

Similarly, light diesel oil price and kerosene oil price will be Rs80.54 and Rs89.31 per litre respectively.

Earlier, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) had recommended Rs11.92 per litre increase in the price of petrol, according to sources.

Maximum LPGas Retail Price: 171.00 c/kg increase.
