Ted Lindsay, hockey hall of famer and one of the greatest Red Wings off all-time has died.

Off the ice, Lindsay was a pioneer in the formation of the National Hockey League Players' Association, which was instrumental in raising player salaries. "That's the way hockey should be played". He captured the Art Ross Trophy as the league's top point scorer in 1950, posting a career-best 78 points in 69 games. He provided muscle and meanness for the Red Wings' "Production Line" of the 1950s.

During his career, the athlete - who earned the nickname "Terrible Ted" for his on-the-ice demeanor - scored 379 goals and 472 assists over regular season games, USA Today reported. "All Players, past, current and future, are in his debt".

Aloha! Southwest's Hawaii fares start at $49
The Dallas Morning News reports the first flights will take off on March 17 and are now listed as cheaply as $49 one-way. The airline didn't formally announce the start of ticket sales but quietly launched a Hawaii ticket portal Monday.

According to the outlet, Lindsay retired in 1964 while playing for the Blackhawks - though four years later returned for one season with the Wings at age 39.

"We are comforted in knowing that the Ted Lindsay legacy will forever be a part of history and are so proud of the many lives he helped change for the better through his tireless humanitarian work", the family said in its statement. Lindsay was Detroit general manager for three years and won the 1977 Executive of the Year award from The Hockey News.
