Here's how to enable Dark Mode for Facebook Messenger

If you're not into Dark Mode once you try it, just tap Dark Mode in your settings to turn it off.

But if this mode is not available on your Messenger app yet, don't worry.

We knew it was coming, but now users can finally access the long-awaited "dark mode" in Facebook's Messenger app for Android and iOS, with the feature arriving as a fun Easter egg for those who follow a few simple steps, as noted on Reddit.

Send it to a friend, yourself, or even one of those annoying Facebook bots.

At its developer conference a year ago, Facebook promised that it would bring dark mode to Messenger; it looks like the company's rolling out the feature at last.

Lakers' loss to Suns causes playoff odds to plummet
But alas, James and his shoddy shooting from the charity stripe continued and he missed both free throws to all but seal the loss. They followed Friday's hard-fought loss to Milwaukee with a disappointing 118-109 defeat in Phoenix on Saturday.

When you enable the feature, you'll also get a warning that it's a work in progress and might not be available everywhere in Messenger for the time being. I unlocked the mode by messaging a spammy Facebook bot. While those spots clearly exist (or so says the warning), you probably won't encounter too many of them. Personally, I'm not a fan because I get headaches from reverse type in general, but if you're interested in trying out this new feature, I've put the instructions below.

Note: If you don't see Dark Mode, quit Messenger, removing it from the background entirely and relaunching it again.
