We're in week 22 of the National Basketball Association season and it seems as though (knock on wood) things are finally beginning to click for the 2018-19 Boston Celtics.

Watching a young, talented team underperform against subpar competition and then kick back for a post-game compilation of conflicting shots of criticism and "he said, she said" nonsense. That means he should play on Thursday against the Kings after getting a game off on Monday. That's an obliterating loss to a Western Conference team that's barely compiled enough wins on their season to just sneak into the playoffs at now 39-30.

Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics are still searching for consistency as they've won just four of their last 10 games and they will be looking to bounce back after having their three-game win streak snapped by the Clippers in a 140-115 road loss on Monday.

Sacramento's Buddy Hield led all scorers with 34 points, connecting on 6 of 10 3-point attempts. At some point the Kings hope to get star rookie Marvin Bagley III back for at least one of the two trip-ending games, but if he doesn't play I don't think Sacramento has enough firepower to match a Boston offense that, when on, is lethal. He connected on six three pointers and had seven assists and four rebounds in 35 minutes on the court.Harrison Barnes added 20, and De'Aaron Fox had 19 points, nine assists and seven rounds as the Kings lost for the 11th straight time in Boston. Nevertheless despite a rough second half from the field, Irving managed to find other sources of production offensively from his supporting cast. Jaylen Brown added 22 points, and Marcus Morris finished with 21 points and 13 rebounds.

Cauley-Stein recorded a 10-point, 13-rebound double-double for the Kings, who lost their second straight and fell below.500 (33-34) for the first time since January 8.

Downstream Missouri River prepares for flooding
Flood warnings are in effect for almost the entirety of Eastern Nebraska, portions of Sioux Falls and Yankton, South Dakota . The highways were being reopened Friday, but the flooding situation wasn't improving as rapidly as the travel conditions.

It was Irving's second career triple-double.

Thursday night marked Irving's sixth game this season with at least 30 points and 10 assists. Irving's last triple-double came on February 28 of 2014 against the Utah Jazz.

It was Boston's second victory over Sacramento in eight days, and the Celtics' fourth win in five games overall.

The Kings got no closer than five after that.
