After Australia's fantastic series win against India, cricket pundits are urging selectors to keep the Australian team intact for the World Cup.

There were several players in the Australian team who produced outstanding performances, most notably opener Usman Khawaja, who was the highest scorer of the series with two centuries and an equal number of half-centuries.

A sorted India captain in Virat Kohli had laid emphasis on how India have almost found the best combination ahead of the showpiece event and also mentioned there is only spot left for discussion.

"Just probably one spot in the team that we have to discuss, and the rest of the team is pretty much sorted for us and we have been feeling pretty much balanced", Kohli was quoted as saying during the post-match presentation ceremony last night. This was Australia's first ODI series win in India since 2009. He's now also the batsman to score most runs against India in a five-match ODI series against India.

- Kuldeep Yadav conceded 74 runs while taking a wicket in the final ODI played at Feroz Shah Kotla Ground which is now his second-most expensive bowling figures in ODIs. Rohit also became the eighth Indian batsman to achieve the feat. The record is held by former Windies pacer Patrick Paterson who took 17 wickets in 1987/88.

The belligerence of Kedar Jadhav (44) and Kumar (46) in a 91-run stand for the seventh wicket injected some late drama into proceedings, but the home side ultimately fell some way short in succumbing to a third successive defeat. In between, they won six bilateral ODI series at home. Former Australian World Cup victor Allan Border says, "There may no longer be room left in Australia's ODI XI for Steve Smith and David Warner after the team claimed its "best ever" series win in the format".

The Indian vice-captain had a disastrous start in the five-match series against Australia as he managed to score just 51 runs from first three matches. Virat Kohli had said that this is India's most likely playing XI for World Cup. The tourists also ran out 2-0 winners in the preceding T20I series. The four instances are - South Africa against Pakistan in 2003, Bangladesh against Zimbabwe in 2005, Pakistan against India in 2005 and South Africa against England in 2016.
