Variety reports that the upcoming CW pilot Katy Keene, a spinoff of its acclaimed teen drama Riverdale, has found its titular star in Pretty Little Liars veteran Lucy Hale. Now, the cast details have finally been revealed! Pretty Little Liars alum Lucy will be playing the role of bold, big-hearted and independent Katy, "a twenty-something New Yorker who aspires to be a fashion designer".

In the meantime, she's stuck working as a much less glamorous personal shopper to make ends meet. "This musical dramedy chronicles the origins and struggles of four aspiring artists trying to make it on Broadway, on the runway and in the recording studio". Alongside working towards her career goals, Katy is also trying to navigate her friendships and romances in NY.

As previously reported, Riverdale's Ashleigh Murray will also appear in the pilot as a slightly older version of Josie McCoy, making her one of the "four iconic Archie Comics characters" mentioned in the logline.

Though Hale is best known for starring on seven seasons of Freeform's Pretty Little Liars, and recently starred on The CW's single season running Life Sentence, Hale actually got her start in singing.

The spin-off comes from writers Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Michael Grassi, who will also executive-produce alongside Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Jon Goldwater.

Ashleigh Murray, who now plays Josie McCoy on Riverdale will also act in the series.

After living a reckless and self-destructive life in the face of certain death, she's forced to find a way to restore relationships with her friends and family now that she's not going anywhere. Thousands of people have commented their excitement for her new role.
