Militao: new Real Madrid signing

Manchester United lose out to Real Madrid in the race to sign Porto centre-back Eder Militao, according to a report.

In a brief statement in Real Madrid's official website, the Los Blancos confirmed that the defender has penned a six-year deal at the Santiago Bernabeu, starting from June 30.

He will now become Madrid's first summer signing for Zinedine Zidane, after the Spanish club agreed to pay his €50m buyout clause. Militao was named as the best defender in the competition for five consecutive matches.

He has made 34 appearances this season and helped Portuguese champions into the Champions League quarter-finals.

New 'Avengers: Endgame' trailer released: 'Whatever it takes'
Thanos better watch the f**k out, because the Avengers just got ahold of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's most prized possession... Tony Stark's Iron Man ( Robert Downey Jr .) and other Avengers in the latest "Avengers: Endgame" trailer released March 14, 2019.

"A versatile footballer, Militao plays largely as a centre-back although he has also spent time at right-back. Qualities that he has worn since his arrival last summer at Oporto, where he has shown a rapid adaptation to European football".

The 21-year-old has impressed for Porto, since arriving in a €4m (£3.5m) deal from Sao Paulo last summer.

He will have seen out less than 12 months of that agreement before heading to Madrid.

A man who made his senior worldwide debut for Brazil in September 2018 will join a defensive unit in Spain which has been far from watertight this season.
