Missing USC student's body found in Clarendon County.

The 21-year-old University of SC student was abducted around 2 a.m. outside a bar in Five Points, police said.

According to the Facebook page of Josephson's father, the family lives in Robbinsville Township, New Jersey, about 10 miles east of Trenton, CNN affiliate WACH-TV reported.

President Harris Pastides in a statement earlier today: "It is with the heaviest of hearts that I write these words this morning".

Robbinsville Mayor David Fried on Saturday said his community offered "its most heartfelt thoughts, prayers, support and love to the Josephson family and all of Samantha's friends - both in Robbinsville as well as her classmates at the University of SC". However, I take solace that the Carolina Family is here to embrace those who are hurting.

According to police, Rowland approached Josephson about 2:09 a.m. Friday morning outside a bar on Harden Street in the Five Points nightspot of Columbia. Friends told police they were concerned as Josephson didn't show up at her downtown home or failed to answer repeated phone calls.

Officials said a suspect identified as Nathaniel David Rowland has been arrested in connection with Josephson's death. Her blood and cellphone were later found in the auto.

Throughout the day on Friday, Samantha's friends and family were unable to get in touch with her and an urgent search was launched. She somehow got separated from her friends, and chose to get an Uber ride through her phone.

"Mayor Dave Fried, B.A. Joy Tozzi and everyone in Robbinsville Township are devastated by the news that the Josephson family of Robbinsville have lost their precious Samantha". As a family, let's continue to pray for all the families experiencing heartache and grief this week.
