Mueller, in U.S. court filing, says multiple probes continue

While many are wondering just when Special Counsel Robert Mueller will finally be ready to wrap up his investigation, he has announced that former Trump campaign deputy chairman Gates is not ready to be sentenced.

But the investigation appears to have gotten even more attention after Special Prosecutor Mueller pushed back the sentencing of key witness, Rick Gates by two months.

It's unclear if the delay of Gates' sentencing is reflection of Mueller's timeline or the status of the other investigations. If Gates wasn't needed anymore, the parties likely would have asked to set a sentencing date.

Oakland Raiders replace Jordy Nelson with J.J. Nelson
The departure of Nelson comes after the organization gave him a $3.6 million roster bonus in December. He has 613 catches for 8,587 yards and 72 touchdowns in his career.

The joint filing by Mueller's office and Gates' attorneys comes amid signs the Russian Federation investigation is winding down. The judge granted the request later Friday.

"Court documents and pre-sentence hearings that dealt with the breach of Manafort's plea deal suggest that prosecutors might have more ammunition to go after the 69-year-old on matters that go directly to the question of a conspiracy with Russian Federation, rather than the financial crimes and violations of foreign-agent laws that he's been charged with to date", The Atlantic's Natasha Bertrand wrote Friday. Prosecutors have noted that he continues to provide information about Manafort's time on the Trump campaign, though neither man has been charged with any crimes related to Russian election interference.

There was heavy speculation that Gates' cooperation would wind down this week, given the conclusion of the federal cases against his longtime partner Paul Manafort. The meeting at the Grand Havana Room cigar club in NY was with Konstantin Kilimnik, a longtime Manafort associate who the Federal Bureau of Investigation says has ties to Russian intelligence. Whether it's Mueller or prosecutors in the Southern District of NY, or perhaps elsewhere, is not entirely clear. "This was an illegal & conflicted investigation in search of a crime".
