Australia’s Hanson suggests country’s worst gun massacre a conspiracy

Hanson and other One Nation officials have repeatedly attacked the validity of the documentary as well as the trustworthiness of the Qatari government-owned Al Jazeera.

Senator Pauline Hanson's comments were part of footage in a documentary produced by Qatar-based Al Jazeera news channel that depicts two party officials seeking donations from the USA -based National Rifle Association to help the party's effort to weaken the laws.

One Nation's Queensland leader Steve Dickson and Senator Hanson's chief of staff James Ashby were caught meeting with powerful gun lobby groups and talking about getting millions in donations from them.

The same Al Jazeera investigation earlier this week revealed senior members of her party travelled to the United States late past year to solicit millions in donations from gun lobby group the National Rifle Association.

"No I haven't [watched the full documentary]. This is not my doing to have exposed this", she told Nine's Today program in an interview broadcast on Friday.

"I know I don't see his face or his lips moving. I feel that this has been dubbed out and it has been cut and pasted so many times". "A lot of questions there", Ms Hanson added.

Senator Hanson is now adamant Port Arthur was not a government conspiracy, arguing she was taken out of context with the documentary "heavily edited" and "dubbed".

"A lot of questions there". "Steve is a family man", she said.

United States economic growth in Q4 revised down to 2.2 pct
The Trump administration's fiscal stimulus in the form of $1.5 trillion in tax cuts and more government spending has now worn off. GDP growth of just 2. 2 percent in the fourth quarter, down from the 2.6-percent estimate originally reported a month ago.

Australia was rocked in 1996 when gunman Martin Bryant went on a rampage with semi-automatic weapons at the historic Tasmanian colonial convict site of Port Arthur. It was light blue in colour.

Ms Hanson said she did not take responsibility for her comments.

"The comments particularly last night and the linkages to Port Arthur, I am sure all Australians would be shocked about", he told reporters.

She also slammed Morrison as a "fool" for deciding to place Labor ahead of One Nation on the voter ballots.

Morrison told reporters Thursday his decision is "based on our strong view about the sanctity of Australia's gun laws and to ensure that at no stage that those things should ever be put at risk".

She also said that Mr Ashby and Mr Dickson, two party leaders implicated in the video, would retain their positions.

Pauline Hanson claims she and her One Nation colleagues are the victims of an elaborate stitch up, and has labelled the prime minister a fool for cutting her minor party adrift.

"Prime minister, you have just handed the keys to The Lodge to Bill Shorten, (Greens leader Richard) Di Natale and the CFMEU", Senator Hanson said.
