Perfect Late Night trailer starring Mindy Kaling

Amazon Studios has welcomed a new guest to its roster of feature films with the forthcoming comedy Late Night, directed by Nisha Ganatra, and starring Emma Thompson and Mindy Kaling. You can check out the trailer in the player below!

Thompson's abrasive Katherine Newbury hires Kaling's Molly Patel as the show's first female and first person of color writer, then discovers that the network wants to cancel the program if she can't deliver bigger numbers. When she's accused of being a "woman who hates women", she puts affirmative action on the to-do list, and-presto!-Molly (Kaling) is hired as the one woman in Katherine's all-male writers' room. The film also stars John Lithgow, Amy Ryan, Ike Barinholtz, Hugh Dancy, and Denis O'Hare.

Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia were discovered collapsed on a park bench near a shopping mall on March 4, 2018. Intelligence services continue to believe it was ordered at "the highest level in the Russian state", the source said.

Shortly after the film's world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival this year, Amazon Studios acquired USA distribution rights for $13 million, the largest sum paid for distribution rights in the festival's history.

But that's also Late Night's problem: it's an easy to watch but mostly unfunny movie about comedy made to mildly please everyone.
