Pro Bowl Kicker Jason Myers Leaving Jets For Seahawks

After one year with 40-year-oldSebastian Janikowski handling kicking duties, the Seahawks have reportedly come to terms with kicker Jason Myers on a four-year deal worth roughly $15 million.

The Seahawks first addition of the 2019 National Football League free agency period also marks something of a reunion as Seattle is signing kicker Jason Myers with the hope he can finally stop what has been something of a merry-go-round at the position since the departure of Stephen Hauschka following the 2016 season.

In other Jets news, the team is not expected to re-sign Pro Bowl kick returner Andre Roberts, the Daily News' Manish Mehta reported.

Seattle has agreed on a four-year deal with Jason Myers, a 2018 Pro Bowler with the New York Jets, according to ESPN's Diana Russini.

EUR/GBP drops to lowest since May 2017 after Brexit votes
Theresa May warned lawmakers that " Brexit could be lost " if they voted against her Tuesday. May could also move to delay the exit until June if her deal is rejected again.

Oddly enough, the Seahawks actually signed Myers last offseason, but they ended up cutting him in August after he lost the kicking job to Janikowski.

Janikowski, who turned 41 on March 2, performed admirably last season by making 22-of-27 field goals (81.4 percent).

It doesn't look like Sebastian Janikowski will be returning to Seattle in 2019. Although Myers is coming off an impressive 2018 season, he hit just 79.4 percent of his field goals in 2016 and was even worse with a 73.3 percent conversion rate in 2017. The kicker's inability to stay consistent on extra points is a big reason why Seattle will be his third team in three years. He played in college at Marist. But he was also injured twice in the final month of the season and had a couple of key misses of his own while hitting 22 of 27 for the season.
