The YES Network, which airs Yankees games as well as other NY sports teams, was one of the 22 regional sports networks that Disney acquired through the acquisition of 21st Century Fox.

The Yankees, along with Amazon, Sinclair Broadcast Group, and private equity firm Blackstone have bought the YES Network from Disney for a reported $3.4 billion. The outlet shares that Amazon is not leading the group buying YES, as noted by earlier reports, stating "the Yankees will be the lead investors after the current deal closes in about 120 days".

This will give the Yankees majority ownership of YES Network.

Under the terms of the deal, Fox, officially dubbed 21st Century Fox, Inc., will spin off some of its properties into a new company, called, appropriately enough, New Fox. The station, which broadcasts Yankee baseball nationally, will give ROH a potential new home in NY and other surrounding northeast states.

The Yankees have reportedly reached an agreement to buy back the YES Network from Disney for $3.4 billion.

Bidding on the other regional sports networks formerly owned by Fox will continue as Disney tries to come into compliance with federal antitrust regulations.

YES Network perennially ranks as one of the most-watched regional sports network in the country. Yankees games on YES averaged 326,000 viewers for live telecasts last season.
