On March 29, they will be replaced by a new model which will be the AirPods 2.

Whatever the case, Apple is yet to send out press invites for this rumored March 25th press conference, which would be Apple's first product launch event.

This same source also supplied a screenshot showing that the "lifecycle" of Apple's current-gen AirPods ends on March 28, just one day before the new accessory will allegedly hit shelves.

We reckon this is a bit of a stretch, but in the interest of crossing our fingers and hoping, we're willing to go along with it. But it remains Apple whose AirPods are the most visible out on the streets - and it looks as though you'll soon have more choice as to what Apple gear to put into your ears.

Ultimately, until we see Apple event invitations start to arrive we're in the dark, and even then we won't really know what will be announced until the day of the event. If the second-generation Apple Watch, and iPhone are any indications, we might expect to see the exact same design with possibly some new feature, better battery life, or in the AirPods case: a battery case that supports Qi wireless charging. Reports said Apple still had to fix several issues with the device, although the company never addressed any of those rumors, nor did it provide additional information about AirPower development.
