Sam Warburton: forget England, Ireland is the one Wales wanted to win

The Principality Stadium roof will be open for Saturday's Six Nations clash between Wales and Ireland.

While the Welsh Rugby Union denied the accusation, Wales coach Warren Gatland admitted that they have not heard back from tournament organisers yet, but confirmed he had accepted that the roof will be open due to Ireland's refusal to cooperate.

Six Nations rules dictate that the away side must agree with the hosts to have the roof closed. Wales want it closed.

Joe Schmidt had explained that Wales defied protocol and asked Six Nations bosses to close the roof for the game.

"You would have to ask the Irish guys about what their mentality is".

The KAP was initially punished for not denouncing Anning's "final solution" speech but eventually expelled him for the comments . Independent Queensland Senator Fraser Anning has been slammed for his appalling response to the Christchurch terror attack.

"So we will probably be happy enough if it's open anyway".

This is the big one, and not just because a win will give Wales the grand slam and a flawless send-off for Warren Gatland in his last Six Nations, but also because this has always been the big one.

Ireland received the final say on the roof but Schmidt refused to be drawn on the subject earlier this week, simply insisting his team would cope one way or another.

Wales trained on Friday morning at the stadium with the roof closed due to poor weather conditions, having previously trained this week at the stadium with the roof open.

"So they've said to the Six Nations directly, 'can it be closed?"'
