Janice Freeman, a powerhouse diva and cancer survivor who bravely competed on The Voice USA Season 13, has passed away of an apparent blood clot. Her story inspired fans nationwide, having successfully battled cervical cancer and living her life to the fullest while fighting lupus. She died Saturday evening, ET said.

Freeman was from Covina and lived in Compton, according to the singing competition's website. "While at home her husband Dion performed CPR until the ambulance arrived".

On Saturday, Janice told her husband Dion that she couldn't breathe, which prompted a 911 call, her family told TMZ. She was pronounced dead around 5:30 p.m.at a hospital after a blood clot seemingly traveled to her heart. She ultimately placed in the top 11. "You got somebody that got your back".

Freeman had previously alerted fans to her ongoing health troubles last month, sharing, "It has been a hard, trying, discouraging, mentally draining, etc last 3 months I have had to deal with in a very long time! This represents you perfectly". Janice Freeman, one of the show's more talented competitors and a crowd favorite in Season 13, has passed away. "Do you understand? What she don't know is, I've been praying for her".
