"We received a 911 call at 9:39 a.m. yesterday", a spokesperson for the Los Angeles City Fire Department told ET on Thursday.

Perry has also played construction construction-company owner Fred Andrews, father of main character Archie Andrews, for three seasons on Riverdale. Perry was not announced as one of the returning stars, with Entertainment Tonight reporting that he had scheduling conflicts with Riverdale.

News of Perry's stroke was first reported by TMZ.

It is not clear who was home with Perry, if anyone, when he suffered his stroke.

In 2015, Perry was treated for precancerous growths after a colonoscopy. "So he will do as many episodes as he can".
