On Twitter, Bundy's longtime personal friend David Herro confirmed the news in tweet accompanied with images of the two together. "Rest In Peace my friend. We love you", he wrote on Facebook.

Details regarding his death are very slim right not but we will keep you updated as soon as we receive additional information regarding his passing.

His debut was in 1981 under the name of Chris Cannon, which later changed to Man Mountain Cannon and in that same year he took up the name King Kong Bundy.

"According to the WWE, Bundy - who stood at 6' 4" and weighed 458 pounds - had such powerful takedowns of his opponents, referees would count to five instead of the typical three as Bundy pinned them down.

The following year, Bundy would compete at WrestleMania 2, only this time it would be in the main event against Hulk Hogan.

Despite his iconic stature and success, Bundy has yet to be inducted to the WWE Hall of Fame. Bundy lost the heavyweight championship match to Hogan.

In matches in which he was the victor, Mr. Bundy often pinned his opponents, insisting that the referee count to five instead of the usual three, to demonstrate his complete domination.

Bundy was also part of the Transworld Wrestling Federation when he appeared at an event to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley and Northeast Pennsylvania in 1996.

Bundy's character was so well known in pop culture that he made acting appearances on multiple television shows including "Married ... with Children" and "Boy Meets World".

He broke into the WWE ranks in the '80s and dominated the inaugural WrestleMania.

Later in his career, King got one more run in WWE highlighted by a coveted match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania XI.

Gregory Helms, also known as Hurricane Helms in WWE, posted a picture of him shaking hands with Bundy.
