Winx wins the Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Royal Randwick

Winx will be stepping out for the final time under race conditions today and a third win the Queen Elizabeth Stakes will take her winning streak to thirty-three as well as collecting her twenty-fifth Group 1 win.

"So you prepare for the races to say well, if she is not as good as she was the previous start or the previous year, she will be retired. She has captured the hearts of people all around the world". Some 27 of her 36 career tallies have come at the metropolitan tracks, including 19 at Royal Randwick, which will be bursting at the seams Saturday afternoon when the Queen Elizabeth field is loaded just after 4 p.m. local time.

Chris Waller said it was an awesome experience to see so many people turn out for her farewell race.

When it came to the race itself Winx, ridden by long-term jockey Hugh Bowman, came out of box nine beginning from a wide berth and was still four horses off the fence turning for home.

As well as finishes her career with 33 consecutive wins, Winx bows out with 25 Group One triumphs. For whatever reason, she keeps running as fast as she has been for four years.

Fans from every corner of the globe will be glued to Saturday's final day of The Championships, which also features the G1 Australian Oaks (2400m), the G1 Sydney Cup (3200m) and the G1 Coolmore Legacy S. (1600m).

Tesla Mode 3 now costs $39500 online
If you decide to skip it and later change your mind, Tesla can make the upgrade to your Model 3, but you will have to pay $9,200. At the time, Tesla also announced plans to close many of its retail stores, but later retreated on that plan.

Adding to the moment, Winx became the 100th Group One victor for Waller.

"I dare say if she had something else to give, she had more to give". Once in sight of the winning line she did what she has done so often and made the race her own in determined fashion, coming clear of Japanese challenger Kluger to win by a length and half, crossing the line to typically rapturous applause and cheers.

Comparisons with Phar Lap have abounded this week with some suggesting Winx's record meant she had now surpassed the champion thoroughbred of the 1920s and 1930s as Australia's greatest racehorse. "She is the most wonderful, supreme athlete I think I've ever seen".

"In terms of the general sporting public, Winx has gone way beyond being just a figure in horse racing - she is a major sporting figure in the country".

"It's great for our sport, it's great for Australia".
