Amber Heard: I feared Johnny Depp might kill me

Actress Amber Heard has recounted years of abuse she endured by her former husband and actor Johnny Depp, in new court documents filed in response to his $50 million defamation lawsuit against her.

In February, the actor filed a $50 million defamation lawsuit over an op-ed she wrote for the Washington Post about being a survivor of domestic abuse. His attorney says in the new statement: "Despite yesterday's claim "that was the only time I ever hit Johnny" concocted to explain our evidence of time-stamped photos of what she did to Johnny Depp's face after he was late to her birthday party, in fact, Ms".

"Johnny often would not remember his delusional and violent conduct after he came out of his drunk or medicated states.Because I loved Johnny, I had believed his multiple promises that he could and would get better. I anxious that Johnny was in a blacked-out state and unaware of the damage he was doing, and that he could actually kill me", Heard said. After Depp reportedly threw a cellphone at her face "like a baseball pitcher" in May 2016, Heard made a decision to leave him and filed a restraining order.

Heard and Depp were married in 2015 but split up one year later, around the same time Heard accused Depp of being abusive and sought a restraining order.

Heard and Musk were first spotted together in July 2016 at a Miami Beach hotel around two months after the "Aquaman" star filed for divorce from Depp. "Heard and attempted to gaslight the world by denying his abuse", Eric George, Heard's lawyer, said in a statement, according to Buzzfeed.

But on Friday, the "Pirates of the Caribbean" star called her new claims a "hoax", and slammed her for having a "prior arrest and incarceration" for domestic abuse, after she was arrested in 2009 for an incident with her then-girlfriend Tasya van Ree, though all charges against her were dropped when Taysa said the situation was "misinterpreted".

"At some point, I stood up, and Johnny kicked me in the back, causing me to fall over". Of course, I am sorry.

Depp is said to have apologised later in a text message, writing, "Once again, I find myself in a place of shame and regret".

Depp has previously denied all of Heard's previous allegations of domestic violence, saying in his defamation lawsuit that he "never abused Ms". Waldman said he and Depp have collected dozens of videos, photographs and eyewitness to back up assertions she was abusive toward Depp and others, including punching him and throwing a can of paint thinner at his head. I know what that does to people. She was afraid that Depp would push her down the stairs, she claimed.

"A hoax confronted with the reality of evidence requires new lies to sustain itself."
"It is regrettable that it will take a judge to finally end the persistent harassment of Ms Heard by Mr Depp, but Ms Heard will take whatever action is necessary to vindicate the truth". "Acting in defense of my sister, as I was scared for her physical safety, I punched Johnny in the face to draw his attention away from her", she said. "Johnny's lawsuit accuses her of cheating with Elon Musk, so now Depp wants to drag Elon into court".

Heard's attorney did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.
