On Saturday, it looked like they were going to win one they had no business winning.

Kyle Hendricks hopes to get the Chicago Cubs off to a good start when he faces the visiting Los Angeles Angels for the first time in his six-year career on Saturday afternoon. But at least they went down with a fight - or with an animated argument.

Peter Bourjos added a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the eighth inning to pad the lead to 6-2.

Schwarber battled Allen to a 3-2 count and then tried to check his swing.

Cubs: Third base coach Brian Butterfield was out with an illness. Schwarber, after the call, slammed down his helmet and had to be restrained by Javy Baez from charging the third base umpire. Even though the game had ended, Schwarber was ejected, saying both Meals and Morales threw him out. That occurred in the second game of their series with the Milwaukee Brewers that saw 19 runs scored. "Able to calm down now, but wasn't the happiest person in the world".

We'll let you know as soon as we get word on a makeup date. "He nearly got by me, but I played good defense". I just don't like the way the game ended right there.

Kettles did not reveal the substance of what the man said. "The suspect may have attended with another individual", he said. Police believe the weapon that was used was created to be used by hunters to take down large game such as moose and deer.

Manager Joe Maddon had his own take - with a Maddonesque twist, of course.

"Everybody is anxious about electronic strike zone", Maddon said. "I want an electronic method to control checked swings". That would be much more interesting and I would prefer that. Everybody was hyper. I just think the umpire (Gabe Morales) called it a little too early.

Baez was anxious about protecting his teammate and for his own safety.

"Unfortunately our replay phone went down right then", Ausmus said. I didn't play football. I expect him to hold the Cubs under one run in six innings with Cozart again finishing the job late. He moves to the sides pretty good. After striking out three times in his prior at-bats, Báez grounded out to first, standing two runners. "I played good defense".

For the Cubs, the loss was a rough way to end a contest they almost rescued from an early deficit that was largely the result of another wave of walks issued by their pitching staff. Starter Kyle Hendricks and six relievers combined for eight free passes.

The first five Angels reached base in the second inning, paving the way for a three-run rally. A catcher interference call against Contreras preceded Cozart's hit. The Angels got a run on an RBI single and a double-play grounder.
