Cale Makar pulls on a Colorado Avalanche jersey after being selected fourth overall in the NHL draft

The Colorado Avalanche have signed Hobey Baker award victor Cale Makar to a three-year entry level-contract and the defenceman will join the Avs immediately as they battle the Calgary Flames in their first-round series.

Cale Makar poses for photos after being selected as the number four overall pick to the Colorado Avalanche in the first round of the 2017 NHL Draft at the United Center.

He'll join an Avalanche team that is now knotted up 1-1 in their first-round playoff series with the West's top-seeded team in Calgary.

The Calgary native made plenty of history this season. Makar was also named the 2019 Hobey Baker Award victor, becoming the first player in school history to win college hockey's top individual prize.

Three of the men were aged between 29 and 50, with the age of the fourth yet to be determined, police said. Edie, who lives in the nearby commission flats, says she didn't hear anything overnight.

Makar had 16-33-49 totals in his sophomore season at UMass and 21-49-70 totals in two seasons with the program.

Makar was named the most outstanding player at the NCAA Northeast Regional, where he led UMass to shutout wins over Harvard and Notre Dame. "We are excited to have him join our team".

Colorado tied the series 1-1 Saturday night, while Makar, who is from Calgary, and the Minutemen were losing to Minnesota Duluth 3-0 in the NCAA title game.
