His upcoming single, "SOS", is going to be released on April 10, 2019; moreover, the forthcoming studio album, entitled TIM, will be released on June 6, 2019.

Last month, Bergling's family announced the formation of a foundation that will raise money for mental health and suicide prevention.

Avicii, whose real name is Tim Bergling - and who was also a remixer and record producer - was apparently close to completing the new album before his untimely and tragic death.

His family released subsequent statements, saying how devastated they were to see their loved one go, however, today the family has issued yet another statement about new music.

According to the extensive feature in The New York Times, the new album will be called Tim, and it "advances his legacy of exploration by embracing psychedelia, Arabian music, sounds of the Caribbean and more".

He was found dead in his hotel room in Oman, Muscat April 20, 2018.

A statement released at the time of announcement confirms the charity will work in climate change, development assistance, nature conservation, and endangered species. Avicii was perhaps best known for his hit singles "Levels", released in 2011, and "Wake Me Up" with Aloe Blacc, which was released in 2013.

Tim, for a few years, had struggled immensely with alcoholism as well as acute pancreatitis. After having his gallbladder and appendix removed in 2014, he canceled a series of shows in an attempt to recover.
