Borderlands 3 Exec Defends Epic Exclusivity After Steam Review Bombing

The review bombing campaign is targeting Borderlands 1, 2, and the Pre-Sequel, with reviewers voicing their displeasure over 2K's decision. On Friday, it put its new policy to work by excluding thousands of reviews for Gearbox Software's "Borderlands" franchise. Vlambeer co-founder Rami Ismail made a similar point, tweeting that the increasing use of review-bombing campaigns has made user reviews a serious issue for developers, and that "platforms without them [are] a safer bet for launch" due to the threat these campaigns pose to a game's financial viability.

In this case, Gearbox Software fans are angry over the developer's decision to sign a limited-time exclusivity deal with the Epic Games Store for the PC version of its upcoming shooter "Borderlands 3".

It will be available on other PC storefronts in April 2020.

Buttigieg takes swipe at Trump, Pence
Democrats and the LGBT community are taking notice of Buttigieg who is gaining ground as a popular candidate. Now, as vice president, he poses one of the greatest threats to equality in the history of our movement.

It was the first real test for Valve since it pledged to curb Steam review bombing by implementing a new "off-topic" review system that would identify and disregard disingenuous feedback, helping preserve the original scores of affected games.

Now, when you go on Steam's store page for either of the Borderlands games and hover over the review score, a message will pop up saying: "This product has experienced one or more periods of off-topic review activity". "Don't let these companies screw us around like this".

Clearly, Pitchford is aggravated by the situation and for bearing the brunt of gamer outrage, despite stating multiple times that 2K has made a decision to publish to the Epic Games Store and not Gearbox.
