Police say Aranda refused to give his name and resisted arrest.

According to the criminal complaint, the man swept his hand across a display table at the Bare Minerals store, knocking several items of merchandise to the floor.

In October 2015, Aranda was accused of throwing glasses in Twin Cities Grill in the mall. He had two previous trespass notices ordering him to stay away from the Mall of America, according to the Star Tribune newspaper in Minneapolis. Police officers responded to a report of a child falling over a third-floor railing, but soon learned the child had been "pushed or thrown", Potts said.

The boy suffered life-threatening injuries, but authorities have not released details, nor have they given an update on his condition. An older man tried to stop the suspect and was assaulted by him, witnesses told police.

Police later identified the suspect at Emmanuel Deshawn Aranda. 'The child has been transported to the hospital and has been receiving care'. Tina Hailey told the publication she was rounding the corner when she heard a woman screaming, "Oh my god, pray for my son".

Court records list the man's recent residences as the Salvation Army's Harbor Light Center in Minneapolis, a homeless shelter, and Pursuit Hometel, a group home on Park Avenue that serves adult men with disabilities.

Global measles cases 'up 300% year-on-year'
If the current trend continues, the record of 667 cases set in 2014 will be eclipsed well before the end of this year. Most of the cases have been in NY , site of an outbreak among ultra-Orthodox Jews that started in the fall.

Any additional information about the incident will come from Bloomington Police Department.

Brian Johnson told WCCO-TV the woman was screaming, "Everybody pray, everybody pray". The child landed on the first floor on Friday morning. The melee was caught on YouTube, but police concluded the brawl - the worst case of violence at the mall in more than 15 years - was not organized through social media as initially feared. "The child did suffer significant injuries". "Our thoughts and prayers are obviously with that child and his family in hopes that that child is able to recover". Authorities don't know a motive.

A 5-year-old was hospitalized after an incident at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn., April 12, 2019.

Police were called to the World of America mall in Bloomington after witnesses reported an unidentified man either throwing or pushing the young child from the height, before trying to flee. He said the suspect immediately took off running but was quickly found and arrested at the mall.

Potts said it does not appear the suspect, a 24-year-old male, had a relationship with the child or the child's family. Aranda lives in the Bloomington area, police said.

Detectives are also also working with the mall to determine if there is any surveillance video.
