Briefing: Foldable 5G smartphone Mate X arrives at official Huawei store

This foldable smartphone will get its juices from two batteries that will jointly offer 4,500mAh of power. This pattern was pushed to the standard when Samsung uncovered its plans about launching a cell phone with a foldable screen.

Samsung's Galaxy Fold will be available in the U.S. starting later this month and in Europe on May 3. This figure is presumably for Huawei devices, using BOE screens but we can expect competitors to go even lower. The website doesn't specify how much the foldable phone will cost, but Huawei said it would start at €2,299 (around $2,580) when announcing its launch at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona in February.

Bernie Sanders to release tax returns by Monday
In 2016, Sanders and his wife, Jane, an adviser to his campaign, released 2014 returns showing $205,617 in income. He also said President Trump - who has refused to make his tax returns public - should do the same.

The markets in which the Huawei Mate X will be launched have not yet been specified, but tensions between the company and the USA strongly suggest that the device will not be launched there. However, there is no word on the valuing of the foldable cell phone.

The Mate X ships with Android Pie 9 and Huawei's EMUI 9.1.1. When its folded, the smartphone has a 6.38-inch display at the back and a 6.6-inch display on the front with a resolution of 2480 x 892 pixels and 2480 x 1148 pixels respectively. Its whopping price tops that of the Samsung equivalent, the Galaxy Fold, which will sell for $1,980.
