Buttigieg takes swipe at Trump, Pence

He's disarming with humor when he notes that before he came out, his two careers were the USA military and elected office in IN, neither of which were known to be particularly gay-friendly.

Pete Buttigieg, the mayor of South Bend, Indiana now seeking the Democrat nomination for president, claimed Sunday his "marriage" to another man has deepened his faith, taking aim at Vice President Mike Pence in the process. Now, as vice president, he poses one of the greatest threats to equality in the history of our movement.

There was a meme that showed sheep with MAGA hats uttering hateful language in thought bubbles and another showed controversial shirts worn by President Donald Trump supporters-deemed as "Mike Pences"-at a rally".

Campos-Duffy defended the far Christian right's support of Trump. But the 2020 campaign has birthed a slew of candidates who are pushing back on the idea that the Trump agenda is consistent with Christian values by explaining how their liberal values have shaped their political worldview.

"It has made me more compassionate, more understanding, more self-aware, more decent", he told the audience.

"If you could have offered me a pill that could make me straight, I would have swallowed it before you could give me a swig of water", Buttigieg said at the LGBTQ Victory Fund's annual brunch.

The country's original March 29 departure date was delayed last month to April 12 amid the paralysis in parliament. Any compromise between May's government and Labour is sure to inflame divisions within each party over Brexit.

He visited Boston earlier this month, and I got to see him firsthand during a small session with reporters and an appearance before a crowd of more than 1,000 at Northeastern University.

What made me particularly nervous about this was when Mr. Buttigieg started saying things like, “Tax cuts for the wealthiest.some of ‘em are gonna have to be reversed.” Or complaining that the “neoliberal consensus” or “Reagan consensus” of the “last 40 years” has “absolutely failed us.”.

Buttigieg, a 37-year-old Afghan War veteran, went on to say his marriage has brought him closer to God.

Democrats and the LGBT community are taking notice of Buttigieg who is gaining ground as a popular candidate. He seems to be interested in winning the majority of Americans who believe that a great America includes a more inclusive Christianity.
