China to join FAA's review panel on Boeing's 737 MAX

The Boeing Company said it delivered 149 commercial planes and 60 aircraft in its defence operations in the first quarter of 2019.

A statement by Boeing on Tuesday said that the major programme deliveries during the period included deliveries under operating lease.

Deliveries of the 737 planes fell to 89 in the first quarter from 132 a year earlier.

In the Q1 report, the company did not disclose how numerous 737s were the Max version that was grounded last month. Eleven MAXs were delivered in March, compared with 26 in February. One involved the Indonesian low-priced airline, Lion Air, which crashed and killed 189 people, while the other crash happened on March 10 when an Ethiopian Airlines plane crashed, with 157 people on board perishing in the accident.
