The superstar couple attended the 2019 NAACP Image Awards on Saturday night (March 30) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

She was present to accept the award, and paid homage to the people who were nominated in the same category as her.

The "Empire" producers removed Smollett's character from the final two episodes of the current season after his arrest last month.

The decision to drop charges sparked outrage across the country, with considerable evidence indicating that Smollett filed a false police report in order to secure an increase on his salary on the FOX show Empire. Smollett won the award in 2017.

The real Smollett had been charged for allegedly orchestrating a racial and homophobic assault against himself, then lying repeatedly about it to authorities.
