Attorneys for the District of Columbia say he could serve between 30 and 57 months in prison, and as part of his plea deal, he's required to give up computers, cell phones, and "other equipment used in the crimes".

The Washington Post reports that Cosko pleaded guilty to "two counts of making public restricted personal information and one count each of computer fraud, witness tampering and obstruction of justice".

Jackson Cosko, a former employee of Senator Maggie Hassan, was arrested a year ago on suspicion of doxxing five members of Congress. Court records show after the firing he "became angry and repeatedly burglarized the office without being detected". Maggie Hassan, D-N.H., after 10 p.m. the previous evening and using an aide's computer and log-in, according to court filings.

"We did not have reason to believe that he posed a risk", a spokesman for Hassan said past year.

"He admitted that he carried out the scheme by breaking into Senator #1's office on at least four occasions and accessing Senate-owned computers for the express goal of stealing proprietary electronic information, including the personal contact information for numerous other senators", according to prosecutors. He copied gigabytes-worth of data, including dozens of user names and passwords belonging to Senate employees and "contact information for numerous sitting US senators", according to court records.

In late September, while watching Kavanaugh's confirmation hearing before the Senate judiciary committee, Cosko became angry at several of the senators.

Cosko admitted in his plea agreement, according to the Post, to posting the private information of Sens.

"He then published the contact information for five USA senators (identified as Senators #2, 3, 4, 5, and 6) using Wikipedia and Twitter, with the intent to threaten and intimidate these five senators and their families". Hatch retired in January after 42 years in the Senate.

Cosko struck again a few days later, posting information about Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Senator Rand Paul - who had called for an investigation - on Wikipedia. The witness, who was not identified, confronted Cosko and he left.

Cosko was arrested October 3 by U.S. Capitol Police, who said he was caught sneaking into the offices of Sen.

"Emails signal conversations gmails. Senators children's health information and socials", according to plea papers. When investigators searched his home they found cocaine, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.

According to his LinkedIn profile, which described him as a "Democratic political professional and cybersecurity graduate student", Cosko first interned for senators in 2011 before interning for Congress in 2012 into 2013.

Cosko is scheduled to be sentenced in Washington June 13.
