It's disgusting. It's awful. This morning, MGM released the first trailer for the upcoming animated reboot, and it is full of Addams' satirical gags. Unlike the Barry Sonnenfeld films of the mid-'90s, this Addams Family finds the characters animated, their original designs brought to grotesque life via the magic of computers.

It starts with a sequence that portrays variations of almost-stick figure families, before moving on to a family that's "more different than others", with Morticia (Charlize Theron) and Gomez (Oscar Isaac) Addams entering their monstrous home.

This new animated feature incarnation hails from Sausage Party directors Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan, but you wouldn't really know it judging by this trailer.

The Addams Family was created by Charles Addams.

Panthers announce 2019 preseason schedule
At some point between August 22-25, the Cardinals will play their preseason Week 3 game in Minnesota at U.S. Last year, they faced both the Raiders and Saints in the regular season, taking on Oakland in Week 1.

In this modern retelling, the family, preparing to host a family reunion, faces off against reality TV host, Margaux Needler (Allison Janney) and her daughter, Parker Needler (Elsie Fisher).

Judging by the trailer, Matt Lieberman's script doesn't shy from the Addams' trademark sly asides.

The first footage is full of creepy crawlies, torture experiments, a new twist to the game of Battleship, and a joke about how there are usually demonic clowns on the ends of red balloons. Later, when Pugsley sets off one of his pesky little explosions, a bath-taking Uncle Fester crashes through the ceiling, sniping - for the Boomers in the audience - "You sunk my battleship".

Oh, well. They've got until October 11th to convince me.
