Hamilton, Mississippi, is 140 miles (225 kilometers) southwest of Memphis, Tennessee. The 13-year-old boy drowned in a drainage area in West Monroe late Saturday afternoon, the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office said.

There were reports of multiple injuries in the Robertson County town of Franklin, the NWS said, and KWTX reported widespread damage there.

"It looks like a storm came up through Louisiana and into MS and exploded in Monroe County", Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell told CNN. Mississippi State University's 21,000 students huddled in basements and hallways as a tornado came near the school's campus in Starkville. Damage from a possible tornado was also reported on Saturday afternoon in Alto, Texas. Trees were down and at least some minor structural damage was reported in residential areas east of the campus.

Power poles and trees were knocked over and parts of buildings were left hanging across utility lines in Troy, located about 50 miles (80 kilometers) south of Montgomery.

Two different rounds of strong storms are expected to track through the WJZ-TV viewing area. They were in the back seat with their parents in the front, said Angelina County Sheriff's Department Capt. Alton Lenderman. The children, ages 3 and 8, were killed when a tree fell on a vehicle Saturday. Heavy rain may also lead to localized flash flooding in areas prone to flooding. More than 140,000 customers remained without power in Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana and Arkansas late Saturday.

Good morning! Besides a few showers today, it will be a nice spring day with above average temperatures. Two people were hospitalized for injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening, while others were treated at the scene, Yezak said. Some people had to be extricated from their homes.

It will be unseasonably cold tonight across North and Central Texas.

Though the rain will be out of the area in time for the Monday-morning commute, it will still be breezy with a 13 to 20 miles per hour west wind and gusts up to 40 miles per hour.
